[RECIPE] Korean Radish Side Dish (Muwoonamul) - Serves 2
We love lightly seasoning our veggie dishes to let natural flavours shine through! This straightforward recipe only takes 10 minutes to cook. With our quality organic radish, you can enjoy the natural savouriness followed by a slightly sweet aftertaste in the soft, juicy textures. Tip: to julienne the radish fast, use a julienne peeler!
2 medium sized organic white radish, cleaned, peeled then julienned/cut into matchsticks
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp soy sauce
3 tbsp water
1/2 tsp sesame oil
Sesame seeds, chopped spring onion, and red pepper flakes, as needed (as garnish)
1. Heat a pan with a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add radish with soy sauce, salt and garlic. Cook for 4 - 5 minutes. Keep stirring till radish is soft and translucent.
2. Add 3 tbsp water. Reduce heat to medium low, cover pan and cook for 3 - 4 minutes or till radish reaches your preferred softness. Taste at this point and adjust seasoning as desired. Turn off the heat, add the sesame oil, sesame seeds and pepper flakes to taste and mix gently. Garnish with spring onions. Serve warm as a side dish with rice or noodles.
